Its 2025 – already

I’ve gotten out of the habit of posting here, but rest assured I continue to write fiction, and make art. This year, 2025, I’m already busy with three short novels that are near completion. One is a summer read, one for fall and one begins and ends with Christmas, though if you like to read as much as I do they fit into the category of an anytime cozy read.

Unless I’m snapped up by a traditional publisher, I will self publish. If the genres you gravitate to are women’s fiction, or contemporary fiction with generational characters, these are for you. Let me know in your comments if you’d like me to post some short excerpts from my works in progress. By the way, I love feedback.

It’s a new day…

About eight weeks ago, I recieved a group of photos taken at a family function.   Everyone looked healthy and happy as I suffled through the stack until I got to one of me, then another of me and another.  All the photos showed a chubby woman who I had believed looked much slimer than that.  ….the camera doesn’t lie, a picture is worth a thousand words etc.   How did I get to this place of chub.

The slim days are long gone, the scale tells me so every time I step on.  Where the scale failed to get the message across those pictures spoke volumes.  Within days of taking a look at the size I had become I took a close look at how I’d gotten there.  Was it the pizza, the cake, the cookies, bowls of ice cream, or the 3rd slice of bread, was it the wine, the beer, the nuts, the chips or the second helpings at dinner.  I had to admit it was all of those things and one more. DIETING.  The yoyo of losing some then re-gaining more and more belly fat.

With plans to lose five, ten or even fifteen pounds in a week I was doomed for failure.  My girth increased a pound or even four pounds at a time through poor choices and unhealthy lifestyle.  My new realistic plan is to lose just one pound a week, I’m down 8 pounds so far.  I know I will reach a plateau from time to time and I sure won’t remain there nor will I go up each week.

My First Blog

Earlier today I wrote a bit About Me so check it out.  But …This my first blog post ever!  What I failed to share in the About Me post is my love of the PLAN.  I always have a plan of some sort, either a plan of how to fill my time, how to manage my time or how to fill and manage someone elses time.    On an ordinary day I “Just do it” and on other days I might need a list to boost me.  My list usually is filled with the mundane,  sometimes when I’m feeling particularly unmotivated I need to write it down step by step: drag clothes to washer, open washer, add water, add soap…you get the picture.  In the slightly enviable position of having a somewhat passive cash flow – yes I have time on my hands which can lead to low energy; that’s why I love The Plan  and to make a plan for moments I might otherwise get so bored I turn to extra food as an activity.  I love to plan so much some of my friends ask about the Plan within minutes of contact.  It’s all about the plan.  Last night I lay awake wondering what kind of plan could I create for this Blog, so come again and check out the Plan!
